Ok we will first start with A lovely Miyavi picture that is semi desaturated. This image hasn't be altered in any way by me yet. you can use the same image here or use your own black and white image. This effect would only come out like this if your image is black and white. Now that your choosen image is opened and ready in photoshop, we will start with the hue and saturation effect. Click on the fill/adustment button which looks like this and go to Hue and Saturation. Make sure your settings match the one below. This will help of your image isn't so desaturated like mines. Hue: 0 Saturation: -50 Lightness:0 |

Now with the brownish hue out of the way, now its time for the contrast. To do this, again click the fill/adustment button which looks like this and go to Curves. From there you will make 4 points, each points will look like the example below. The output/input will be the following for each pointPoint 1: in - 0 , out - 0 Point 2: in - 64 , out - 70 Point 3: in - 180 , out - 201 Point 4: in - 255 , out - 243 You can type in the following numbers for each point, just be sure to make the point first before typing in the numbers. |

with your vintage coloring done, you should have a total of 4 layers. 1 for the picture, and 3 for the coloring effects. Now for the texture. If you image is a portrait like mines the following texture (get it here) needs to be flipped. That can be done via Image then rotate canvas. 90 CW is what I picked, and that rotated it to fit to my vertical portrait image. If the texture is too small for your image just double the layer as many times till (and move it of course) until it does. Link the textures layers ONLY and go to Layer > Merge Linked. If you not sure how to do that, click on the first texture layer and click the little box next to the preview![]() Now that your textures have become ONE layer, change the blending mode to Lighten or screen. I'm giving you the option to choose because not every image will produce the same effect if set to lighten or screen. If your using the same image like i am, set the blending to screen. |

and go to Hue and Saturation. Make sure your settings match the one below. This will help of your image isn't so desaturated like mines.
